![]() Could there really be a difference in the compatibility? As far as I know they use the same minidp port. I'll keep trying and tell you as soon as I succeed! :)Įdit: I've just noticed on the page you linked that under compatibility the latest Mac mini listed is the 2014 model. I didn't buy this monitor for this Mac originally.Īny way, I really appriciate your help. Maybe messing around with SwitchResX corrupted the. That is why I believe it could be a software issue. ![]() I've tried two different cheaper adapters before and they didn't work, but this one I'm surprised by it. It's just the combination of 2019 MacBook Pro. The cables, MacBook, and monitor all work in other cases. The Samsung CRG9 also works with my Windows 10 desktop via DP and my older 2015 MacBook Pro using HDMI. In other words, I think it's basically the same thing as what's sold in Apple stores, yet it's not working. I've tried connecting the MacBook to an older Samsung monitor I have, and it worked, both with the USB-C to DP and the HDMI connections. Mine even says on the box it's for connecting MacBooks to TVs and it supports Thunderbolt technology. It has the same description as this one as well. Hama cables are in the same price range as Belkin ones, my adapter was the same price as the one on the site and it even has the official "for Mac" sign on the box with the Finder logo so it's supposed to be Apple recommended too. Does anyone have any advice or relevant experience regarding this? I really want that shiny QHD resolution. ![]() I've also checked the Belkin 4K Mini DisplayPort-HDMI adapter from Apple's website, which might or might not work with my model. I've read on a forum, that I might need to buy an active adapter. Since both the display and the HDMI cable support the desired resolution, the culprit is either the Mac Mini or the adapter. Since the Thunderbolt port is compatible with the Mini DisplayPort standard, I used a thrid-party Mini DisplayPort-HDMI adapter with the HDMI cable, but the resolution remained the same 2048×1152. I want to connect the Mac Mini to the display with support for the full QHD resolution. The first curious thing is that I can surpass the officially supported 1080p with HDMI, and can reach a resolution of 2048×1152. I also have a DELL display with QHD (2560×1440) resolution, and also a HDMI cable supporting this resolution (tested with a MacBook Pro on the same display). I have a Mac Mini (2011 model) that supports up to 2560×1600 resolution through the Thunderbolt port, and 1920×1080 through the HDMI port (source). Looking for an answer as my local Apple Support wasn't able to find a solution. Mac Mini 2011 QHD (1440p) resolution Hello folks,
